This is a small local news site covering the city government, the lakefront, the schools and whatever else turns out to matter. It is written by one person. The name is a promise: what you read here is what I know so far.

Who writes this

My name is [Your Name]. I live in Lakewood, [neighbourhood or how long]. [One or two sentences of relevant background — previous reporting, another career, why you started this.] I go to the meetings, read the filings, and write up what actually happened.

Who pays for it

I do. There is no owner, no investor and no parent company. [If that changes — advertising, memberships, a grant — state it here plainly and say who is paying.] If a story is ever sponsored or underwritten, it will say so at the top, not in the small print.

Conflicts of interest

I live in the city I cover, which means I will sometimes have a personal stake in a story — a street, a school, a permit, a neighbour. When I do, I will say so inside the story itself rather than leaving you to find out. I do not hold local office, sit on any city board, or accept payment from anyone I cover.
