Lakewood Provisional Post is a small, independent local news project based in Lakewood, Ohio.

Why “Provisional”?

I wanted a name that didn’t arrive with too many expectations attached. “Provisional” felt about right. Every time I publish a story, I prove it wrong. Take that.

Lakewood, Mostly

Lakewood is the center of it, but the city does not end at W. 117th Street, Lakewood Heights Blvd, or the Rocky River Reservation. LPP also follows things elsewhere in Greater Cleveland when they are close enough, useful enough, interesting enough, or simply something a Lakewood reader might realistically go see or do.

Short on Purpose

The articles are intentionally concise, while not leaving out important context. They stop when there’s nothing more worth saying.

The Post tries to respect the reader and impress no one.

Useful details should stay in. Filler should not.
